Zachary's Torah Ceremony at Ezra Academy

Zachary received his Torah today at Ezra Academy. It is a rite of passage for 1st graders at Ezra. They did a play (see pictures below) which included his part as a golden mountain and Mt. Sinai. He was fabulous. He read is parts beautifully and with tremendous expression. We are so proud of him.
Zoe was glad to be there to see Zachary's big moment.

Zachary also sang 3 songs with his class - and this time he actually sang almost ALL the words. He only paused here to smile at Mama which made for this sweet picture. But, it should be noted that not only did he sing all the songs with his class, but he has been humming them at home, which shows he really learned everything well and was excited about. What a great day for Zachary and all of his classmates.

Zoe's Dance Recital

In preparation for Zoe's dance recital, Mama took her for her first manicure! She chose pink and purple (one for each hand) and got flowers painted on both ring fingers. She was so happy, and her nails looked beautiful ... see below.
Here is Zoe with some of her classmates during the tap portion of her performance. Her costume was beautiful - red velvet with diamond studs! Matching head band too. She looked adorable, and so did all her classmates.
She paused mid dance to give us the thumbs up - she was happy and did GREAT.

She got air on her jumps - check it out.
This was the ballet portion - yes there was a costume change, and the ballet costume had matching arm bands and hair ribbon and a different skirt.
more air, and check out her lovely braid.

beautiful turns and points
Here is Zoe in her ballet costume (actually before the recital), doesn't she look sweet?

1st soccer game

Today, Zachary started Soccer - for the town of Orange, CT. It was his request and we were hopeful that he would have fun, which he did! He got some pointers at the start especially a how to on how to stop the ball as well as kick and dribble (this was his first time), and then he played a game against the gold team which did include his best friend. The red team won 1-0!!! Zachary got in there some, despite it being his first game and he even kicked the ball. He ran around and had a big smile on his face the entire game and in the 2nd half he eventually caught on that the teams had changed sides, hee hee. We are so thrilled that he had so much fun and hope his enthusiasm continues throughout the season.
