Camping Black Rock State Park CT

We took the kids to Black Rock State Park here in Connecticut. We camped out with some friends. The first 24 hours were great, but sadly the rain came into our lousy tent (which we have since returned) and our stuff got all wet.

Glenn got to do some fishing in the lake, and he used Papa Sol's old fishing gear. The boys (Zachary and his friend Arnon) got to watch and even help reel in the line. Zoe had to check things out too, of course.

Here we are walking across the bridge to the lake ... keep in mind this is day 2 and we hadn't showered so note the crazy curls on Zoe and Mama. Our friends are in the background -- Iris, Adam Arnon and baby Zohar.
Zachary and Arnon walked hand in hand to the beach area on the lake - what a kodak moment!

Zoe and Zachary loved swimming in the lake, they were fearless (especially since the didn't have their water wings). Zachary went quite deep and as you can see by his face, was really enjoying it. He will take swim lessons this fall we hope.

Mama and Daddy didn't put their suits on - but we still waded with the kids. We wanted to take advantage of the time altogether for some family shots to remember our fun at the lake.

Zachary and Zoe - got their first ice creams treats from an ice cream truck - Zoe got a Dora pop and Zachary a Spiderman pop. They were a mess afterwards but it was totally worth it.
Zoe refused to sleep - so here she is in her PJs sitting with the boys by the fire in her new red camping chair. She sure had fun, staying up later than she has ever before (yikes).
Stay tuned for pictures from blueberry picking as well - but too many for this post. Hope you are enjoying all the updates.
