Big News ... Zachary did it!

Zachary was promised (by Daddy) a pinball machine (just like Uncle Brian has - a full size) if he actually pooped in the toilet. Well it has been a long haul, and he has been a champ at peeing in the toilet for quite some time, but he now can poop in the toilet. HOORAY! Here he is with his big prize - and boy does he love it, let's just hope he keeps up the good work if you know what I mean.

Zoe, of course, wants in on the action - but so far Zachary barely takes a break from playing when she is around, but not to worry she is busy with other new activities - as you will see below.

Zachary and his beloved, Tugs, who he hugs everyday.
Here is Zoe, mastering puzzles, and climbing the kitchen furniture - yikes!
Zoe and Zachary are fortunately more than willing to share - even a chair as well as snack - unless it is a popsicle and then they each can devour their own.

Zoe likes to carry many things around (and sometimes hide them) here she is with my purse and also a baby.
Here I am with my first cuke from our garden - it was so delicious and I felt so proud. There are more cukes growing as well as beets, basil and peppers - YUM!

Guilford Jewish Festival and Zoe the Diva

We went to a Jewish Festival in Guilford over the weekend. It had a lot to offer including lots of yummy things to eat, cotton candy, snow-cones, mini doughnuts, and of course burgers, hot dogs and falafel. They also had some kid jumping activities, various objects to buy and great music which we enjoyed listening to. Here I am sitting with the kids as they eat doughnuts and listen to a local Klezmer band. What a treat. Zachary loved the moon bounce, and we were able to hold Zoe up against the outer portion and she felt like she was in there jumping around too. Zachary got some air in this picture!
Zachary and Zoe shared their first snow-cone. It was quite a treat to them (despite the many popsicles they have already eaten this summer). I guess we should have given them each their own but they had other treats too ....

Zoe's first cotton candy (and maybe Zachary's too). She loved it, and had quite a bit and also wore quite a bit. It is messy sticky stuff, but boy is it yummy. Mama and Daddy enjoyed what little they could steal too.

Zoe is modeling her Mama's swim suit (from when she was little obviously). Isn't it a beauty, a relic of the 70's, complete with ric-rac or do they call that bric-brac detailing. She has the cutest little pot belly she is also showing off!

Zoe's first pig tails ... isn't she a Diva. She didn't keep them in so long, see the next picture. But she is getting better about wearing girly hair things and with her hair getting longer and her curls getting fuller, this will be helpful.

More Summer Fun

We took the kids to the local farmers market, and got this great shot of Zachary in the park. We had yummy raspberries and a homemade trail mix that the kids enjoyed. We also bought some snap peas but only ate a few unlike the raspberries which we devoured, well mostly Zoe (see below).

Any afternoon the sun is shining we fill the pool and water table for some backyard fun and cooling off. The kids take turns watering various plants, moving toys from the table to the pool and back again. Also, Zoe likes to eat many of the toys (lovely) and Zachary likes to say he is going to swim but actually never sits down. However, he loves to run and jump through the sprinkler so they both are very wet by the time it is time to go in for dinner. Summer is so fun!

The kids both like to water the garden - and it is growing well so we aren't complaining.

A little break from water fun to see how fast the slide is when your Tushie is wet. It is pretty fast (if you don't have your shoes on).
Can you see our first snap peas next to the gang. We harvested one and boy were the peas sweet. What a treat! There will be more in a few days, and now we know for next year that they grow well in our garden. Keep your fingers crossed on the peppers, cukes, beets and basil.
