Zoe is 10 mo and Uncle Brian's & Grandpa's Birthdays

Zoe is 10 months old! She is really moving and grooving these days. She is almost ready to crawl and tries all the time. She is also starting to pull up to standing and has figured out to get from laying down to sitting up. Quite a feat for her. It is quite funny to find her sitting up in her crib, and we know it wont be long before we find her standing up there.

I really really want to crawl - if my legs would just work!

It is so fun to be able to stand up ... hooray for me.

Uncle Brian needs a haircut, and rumor has it he got one after we left.

We went to Maryland to help Uncle Brian celebrate his birthday. We had ice cream cake which was very yummy - Zachary and Uncle Brian enjoyed some together. It was a fun visit and we can't wait to go back when baby Cousin arrives.

On the way back from Maryalnd we stopped in NJ to wish Grandpa Stan a very happy birthday!

Zoe isn't safe just sitting in the middle of the bed anymore. It wont be long before she learns to climb over the pillows we use to keep her safely away from the edge of the bed.

Zachary (without any encouragement) helped his baby sister finish her lunch. Can you imagine anything more sweet, we can't!

Pool Party and BBQ

How else do you beat the heat than a dip in the pool. It was a good thing our neighbors brought the extra pool because the kids wouldn't have all fit in our little pool. Zoe has the white hat on - she has her buddies in our pool and some of the bigger kids are enjoying the other pool (Thanks Kalmars). Zachary was busy on the swings, surprise surprise.

Zachary and Sapir grabbed drinks at the kiddie picnic table.

Some other friends joined them at the table, Rebecca and Elias. How fun!

Zoe had friends over too and here she is with one of her pals, Joseph - aren't they cute together?

Summer fun

Zachary is getting better and better at climbing, and pretty soon he wont need a spotter, but for now Daddy is happy to hang out next to the rope ladder.

Happy Birthday to Zadie!

Hey where is my cupcake?

Zoe 9 mo, zoo & strawberries

Zoe is 9 months old. She has had a busy month. She has started saying Mama (see video of previous entry) and Dada, she went camping, went to Yale graduation, and has been busy swimming in our pool. She is on the verge of crawling, and has become an expert at sitting up as well as clapping. She is a really happy child with lots of smiles and laughs. She also loves watching Zachary. What a joy she is.

Zachary went strawberry picking with us but really he went to eat and we did the picking. Can't really blame him the berries were yummy.

Grandma Gaile (GG) and Mama took Zachary and Zoe to the Beardsley zoo, our local zoo. It was the perfect size and their were lots of animals to see. Zachary loved seeing all the animals and Zoe also took her first Carousel ride. It was a fun day and GG was glad to spend it with Z & Z.

Family Camping Trip for Father's Day

For Father's Day Weekend, we took the kids camping! We had 2 tents, one for our stuff and one to sleep in. Zachary slept with us and Zoe had her own little mattress. It got pretty cold during the night but we managed to keep everyone warm. Glenn was also able to do some fishing, and even caught two fish during the weekend. He showed Zachary how to cast in the river and Zachary just kept saying, my dadd needs to go fishing. It was really quite fun. Enjoy some pictures of our weekend.

In this part of Connecticut, there are lots of covered bridges. Zachary was so excited as he has a bit of an obsession with bridges and tunnels. Zachary and Zoe had a seat in this covered bridge that is only for walking through near a waterfall we went to for lunch.

A special father's day ice cream treat!

Zachary had a great time at Kent Falls. He was enamoured with the waterfall.

Zachary tried s'mores for the first time, and he loved them, well at least the marshmallow and chocolate part. Some of the graham cracker was always left. He has been asking for s'mores ever since we got home too. For now he is falling for "S'mores are only for camping."

Zoe aka the cheerio monster ...

Zoe started saying Mama as well as Dada. But here is some video of her saying mama and clapping too. Stay tuned she turns 9 months old in a few days.

Betsy's graduation and Zoe claps!

So it is official, Betsy got her PhD from Yale University from the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Develolpmental Biology. Zachary went up onto the stage with her to receive her diploma. Betsy's parents were there to see her graduate, which gave them great pleasure. There was a celebratory lunch afterwards with Betsy's labmates who also graduated. It was a nice day, but very hot!

Check it out, Zoe learned to clap. Too bad it wasn't in time for graduation, she could have clapped her little heart out.
