Glenn's Birthday

Glenn had a good birthday at home. We had a yummy birthday dinner with our friends Adam, Mona and Aidan and then Zoe had to hit the sack. She needed her beauty sleep. Then we had cake ...

Zachary looks a little worried cause Mama told him that these were not regular candles so he wasn't sure what that was going to mean

ARGH those darn trick candles, or as we told Zachary, "funny candles."

Time for some catch up ...

Apologies for our absence on the blog. Zachary had a tough recovery despite our last entry that he was recovering well. Things are much better now and we are glad to be over the hump of his surgery. Meanwhile we had some fun adventures at home and also celebrated Purim. So we have lots of snapshots for you to get caught up on. ENJOY!

Purim was lots of fun this year. Zachary dressed up as an Alligator (yes a repeat of Haloween, his choice). He however was also Queen Vashti (again his choice) in his school Purim "production". Here are some pictures of Zachary and his classmates performing the Purim story.

Hamentaschen and apple juice, YUMMY!

Zoe was dressed as a Bumble Bee for Purim and enjoyed buzzing around Zachary's classroom after his performance.

We were grateful to receive lots of treats in Mishlach Manot on Purim from our friends including the kids favorites lollypops. The had to each have one for dessert at lunch time. What a (sticky) treat!

We finally did it - we bought a big TV just in time for March Madness, and Zoe (and Winston) demonstrate how much they love the new TV and seeing Elmo on the big screen!

Don't report us, Zachary really wanted to go in Zoe's crib (which was once his crib) and so we couldn't resist the photo op of both kids "hanging out" in the crib. As you can tell they thought it was a hoot.

Another cold day - getting ready for a walk - trying to layer and bundle the kids. The were good sports about it and we think they were also warm despite the cold New England day.

Zachary's Recovery

Zachary had his tonsil and adenoids out and his tubes replaced (in his ears) this passed thursday 2/14. He was quite the trooper, and came home the same day. He has done pretty well with his recovery thus far although at times it is hard to swallow and he would rather not take his medicine or drink anything. He has been happy and smiling though as you can see here, so we are hopeful he wont hate us forever for subjecting him to this torture!

Zoe has reaped the benefits of videos and snuggling on the couch. She has seen enough Little Einsteins to be the brain of her preschool class next year. She has been doing her best to help her big bro feel better bringing him his loveys and snuggling with him. Tugs (Zachary's dog) has been right with him most of the time. Zoe even occasionally gives Zachary a love bite ... see below.

Big thanks to GG who has been here to help out during Zach's recovery. He has been enjoying having her here and so are we. Zachary is very excited that Grammy and Grandpa will come next week to help him feel better too. We are hoping that he will feel well enough to do something fun outside of the house!

Early February

Zoe has learned how to climb up on our bed. She uses the chest at the foot of the bed and the climbs her way up to roll around in the pillows or pester Winston. Ah the freedom to maneuver makes Zoe very happy!

Zachary helped me make Rice Krispie treats this weekend. He mixed and poured and also tasted ... see below. Now he knows what the dessert treat is this week.

Zoe is wearing shoes now ... she found them a bit awkward at first, but now she has adjusted. It was fun to take both kids to the shoe store and pick out shoes for them, until we had to pay ... oy vey two kids in shoes, and their little feel grow so fast. Oh well, at least their cute!

Zachary here (hard to tell) wearing a hat that Great-Grandma Rita knitted a long time ago. Sweet face despite the funny hat.

Here we are at the Laurie Berkner concert. The kids first trip to a concert. It was fun to hear the music we listen to (over and over) and experience a concert hall. We went with friends so that was fun too. We aren't sure Zoe knew what was happening, but she danced anyway.

Zoe shaking that egg ... what fun!

end of January

Zoe's pal Joseph came over to play and she showed him how she likes to preform on her own stage, aka our very wide window sill.

Zoe is wearing her Mama's coat and bonnet -- doesn't it look adorable and not dated at all considering it is 30+ years old.

It was Mama's birthday and the kids were very excited to have a cause to celebrate and cake to eat. Not to mention fun with the gloves that Aunt Marcia and Great Grandma Rita sent as a gift.

Zachary trying on Daddy's Yale hat. What a face ...

Zachary went with Daddy to his new office and besides being excited to ride the elevator in his office building, he also really enjoyed sitting in the office chairs. Now he has a picture in his mind when he tells Daddy to have a good day at work.

Florida 2008

Our trip to Florida was not as we expected it to be. The weather turned very cold (we had the heat on for a few days) and Zadie wasn't feeling as well as we had hoped. We did make the most of our trip though ... each of the kids had quality time with GG and Zadie. We also went to the Science Museum on one of the cold days. And we were able to go to the pool with both kids one day.

Zoe is really enjoying reading books these days, both with us and on her own. Meanwhile Zachary learned to play computer games with GG, before we know it he will be sending emails to all of you!

Zadie looks pretty good considering his last few months and more importantly, the kids were enamored with him. They only wanted to know where he was at all times, what he was doing and share in whatever he was eating. We think Zadie had lots of fun too!

Their were lots of interesting exhibits at the Science Museum as well as an aquarium. Here we are checking out some various shells. And below the kids and Daddy got friendly with some astronauts.

Zoe Bubbles

Zoe really enjoyed blowing bubbles ... ok this wasn't her first bubble encounter, but first good pics of her enjoying the bubbles. Meanwhile, Zachary is learning how to blow the bubbles he knows it is harder than it looks. Stay tuned for pics from our trip to Florida.
