Zachary's 7th Birthday (part 1)

Zachary turned 7 years old this week. We can hardly believe it! He had a great birthday - and he hasn't even had his party yet. He woke up early and got presents from Mama, Daddy and Zoe. He liked all his presents. He then had a special sweet treat for breakfast - pastries. Then it was off to his first day of Schooner camp (on the Long Island Sound). We sent cookies for him to share with his group in honor of his birthday. They even made him a really adorable birthday card. Also exciting was that his best friend Eitan, pal Sophie, and Zoe joined him at Schooner this summer.
After camp Eitan came home with Zachary. They exchanged birthday gifts since Eitan's birthday was just 4 days before Zachary's. Eitan got Zachary the game mousetrap which made for a lot of laughs that afternoon. The kids had their favorite dinner - raviolis and then we had ice cream cake. Then the kids watched some Tom and Jerry (their favorite). They headed up to bed - but took a while to drift off to sleep. A good birthday indeed - although a bit tired the day after!

Zachary looking so cute not long after we all woke up on the morning of his birthday. Notice that those front teeth are growing in and that Zachary really needs a haircut. He may be older and bigger, but he still is cute and sweet to us. Stay tuned for his bouncing birthday bash.

Grandpa Stan's 70th birthday

Grandpa Stan turned 70 and for his big birthday Grammy got him a flying lesson in a Cessna at the Princeton Airport in New Jersey. The kids were very excited to watch Grandpa fly! They did a really good job keeping the secret from Grandpa until we left for the airport. Zachary actually told Grandpa when it was time to reveal the surprise. Grandpa had a great time as you can see in this picture and by his big smile!

The kids enjoyed checking out the Cessna after the flight and even touching the propeller - it was surprising how small the cockpit was up close. Not much room for passengers, which is ok since the kids enjoyed watching but didn't want to fly ... yet.
