It's SPRING ... and Zoe is 7 months old!

Zoe at 7 months. Gotta love that smile. Zoe has had a busy month. She had her Simchat Bat aka her naming (see previous blog entry) and she is sitting up on her own (with pillows or mama nearby). She is getting better at eating and feeding herself baby cookies. How fast the time has flown by and how fun it has been.

To celebrate that Spring is here we all went to a new park. Zachary was so excited to try out all the new equipment and Zoe enjoyed watching all the kids play and taking her first swing ride (see below). Here the kids are taking a little break at the park. We took lots of pictures of our kids playing on this fine day so be advised, this blog entry is jam packed. We are so glad the nice weather has arrived and we can enjoy outdoor fun. Or as Zachary says IT'S SPRING and summer's comin'!!!

Zachary loves to test out new slides wherever he goes. Can you blame him, slides are FUN!

Zoe went for her first swing ride at the park. She didn't hate it and we thought she sure looked cute. She is still a bit small, but she holds her own. We had tested her out at home on our swing (which is a similar type) but hadn't put her legs through (if you can imagine) so this way is much better.

Please feel free to contribute to the Zachary and Zoe braces fund, any amount is greatly appreciated.

Zachary wanted to help his sister out so he held her hand, which is far better than if he had been pushing her we think.

Zoe really loves to eat ... as long as she can follow each spoonful with her thumb. And in case you were wondering she doesn't mind which thumb she sucks after each spoonful. Hopefully this habit will break before her wedding day!

Zoe's Simchat Bat and other goodies

On Sunday April 8, we celebrated a Simchat Bat (celebration of our daughter) to name (again - we had done it at Shul when Zoe was 3 weeks old) Zoe Claire/Shaina Zahara. Zoe is named for her Grandpa Stan's mother Sadie Schulman (Zoe/Shaina meaning beautiful) and for his birth mother who died when we was very youung Celia Schulman (Claire/Zahara meaning brightness). It was a beautiful ceremony and we were so thrilled to be surrounded by all of our family and so many friends as well as Zoe and Zachary's friends.

Here we all are as we began some readings for Zoe. Zachary was a big help as he lead the kiddush.

Uncle Brian and Aunt Rebecca are Zoe's Godparents. They held her during part of the ceremony. Also both sets of grandparents were present and read some poetry. Her Great-Grandma Rita was also present and she was the one who bought Zoe her beautiful purple party dress - complete with the matching headband!

Uncle Rabbi Yossi officiated the ceremony and here he is helping Glenn bless both Zoe and Zachary just as he does every shabbat.

Great-Aunt Marcia was here as well and Zoe really enjoys being with her (as does Zachary).

Grammy Ellen and Grandpa Stan brought Zoe her first Yankees cap.

Zoe has also started sitting up recently - although she isn't completely stable yet. Here she is sitting in her bath - a whole new world for her as I am sure you can imagine.

Zadie Marvin bought Zachary a lollypop before he left and Zachary enjoyed it for dessert one night. It is good to remember how much fun lollypops are.

We think Zoe is enjoying sitting up as much as we are enjoying watching her. We guess it wont be long before she is really moving, better buy that gate!

Spring is here

Now that spring is here, Zachary is getting ready to help Daddy cut the grass in the backyard. Now if only his mower actually cut grass, but don't tell him that.

Zachary was a big helper as we were getting ready for Passover. He "helped" Mama finish this ice cream sandwich so that the freezer would be chometz free.

Grandma Gaile (aka GG) enjoys a snuggle with Z & Z.

We celebrated Daddy's birthday during Passover with a special cake. Both Zoe and Zachary thought the candles were intriguing, and Zachary did a great job of helping Daddy blow out his candles. Zoe really wanted to try the cake, but we told her she had to wait about 6 months.

Great Grandma Rita came to visit and has been enjoying giving Zoe and Zachary lots of kisses. Zoe and Zachary have been enjoying the kisses too!
